Because the seams are where security fails. A camera on an unsegmented network, a SCIF with an undocumented cable penetration: most findings we remediate were created by handoffs between trades. We remove the handoffs.
Anyone can hang cameras. What you're actually buying is the design: whether an intruder is detected early enough to matter, and whether the system still works and still passes inspection five years and three staff turnovers later. The discipline we apply to SCIF construction governs a warehouse camera system too, because the failure modes repeat.

Design starts with who you're defending against and what standard the facility must meet: ICS 705-1 and the IC Tech Spec for SCIFs, DoDM 5105.21 for SCI programs, UL and insurer requirements for commercial work. The threat model decides the equipment list.
A camera that records a break-in is evidence; a system that interrupts one is security. Army physical-security doctrine (FM 3-19.30) formalizes the chain of detect, assess, respond. We design that chain backward from your response time, matching sensor type to threat and placing sightlines so detection happens while intervention is still possible.
Perimeter, structure, room, rack, network: each layer is designed assuming the one before it has already failed. Layering is how you buy time.
A camera on a flat network is an attack surface. An access panel on an undocumented cable run is a finding. We design the physical, cabling, and network layers as one system under one contractor, because the seams between vendors are where installs fail.
Every cable is labeled, every wall and pipe penetration gets a detail drawing, and the as-builts match what's actually in the ceiling. That's the paperwork the Fixed Facility Checklist (ICS 705-2) expects, and it's what gets you through an inspection, an insurance audit, or an incident review without archaeology.
Power loss, link loss, tamper: every component has a known failure state, an alarm, and a log entry. A system that fails silently is worse than no system, because you thought you were covered.
In practice this buys you fewer blind spots per camera dollar, footage that holds up as evidence, inspections that pass the first time, and a service bill that stays low because the next technician can read the drawings.

We do not install, resell, or operate any equipment or service on the FCC's Covered List (Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act, 47 CFR § 1.50002), and our procurement meets the prohibitions in NDAA Section 889. That excludes Huawei and ZTE telecommunications equipment, Hytera, Hikvision, and Dahua video surveillance, Kaspersky software, covered Chinese carrier services, and the foreign-produced drones and routers added to the list in 2025 and 2026.
The part that actually takes work: covered manufacturers sell under dozens of private labels, and a camera line with a friendly American brand name is often a Hikvision or Dahua board inside. We trace equipment to the OEM before it goes on a quote, so a federal inspection or a section 889 representation never turns up a surprise in your ceiling.

No contractor can promise accreditation; that decision belongs to the government's accrediting official. What we do: design and construct to ICD/ICS 705 technical specifications, document every penetration and material, and support your Fixed Facility Checklist and inspection process, so accreditation arrives as an outcome of the build rather than a fight after it.
The honest answer is usually a scoped countermeasure set. TEMPEST requirements depend on what's processed in the space and on the threat environment your authority defines; most commercial facilities need disciplined RED/BLACK separation and cable hygiene long before they need a fully shielded enclosure. We'll tell you which one you are before we quote either.
It's the most common problem we find. Split responsibility produces cameras on flat networks, undocumented cable paths, and three vendors pointing at each other during an incident. We audit what exists, document it, and take single-point responsibility going forward.
Federal contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold typically carry small-business subcontracting plans, with SDVOSB participation as a scored or required element. A verified SDVOSB sub with current SAM registration and relevant past performance strengthens the plan without inventing work; facility security and low-voltage scopes exist on nearly every construction and IT contract anyway.
